fuel cards

With the implementation of alternative fuel sources in the minds of many, diesel is now under the microscope more than ever. Although vehicles diesel have been around for a long time, gasoline is still the main source of fuel for most of North America. Why has not diesel was used as a fuel source in more vehicles? Which is better for the environment? These are questions that are asked most often as the search for alternative fuels is weighing heavily on more people's minds.
Petrol vs Diesel
It turns out that gasoline is more volatile than diesel, not so its base is composed of, but because of the additives it contains. In addition, vehicles that use diesel tend to be more fuel efficient and produce less greenhouse gases. In this sense, diesel is more environmentally friendly. Diesel actually produces more than 15% of greenhouse gases than gasoline when compared by the liter instead of a gallon. However, by 20-40% improvement in fuel economy in gasoline, which compensates the increase emissions per liter. At present, the carbon dioxide emissions are considerably lower than gasoline, but diesel contains 2778 grams of carbon per gallon, while gasoline contains 2421 grams per gallon. But, again, is the economy of diesel fuel that represents the lowest rate of carbon emissions.
By Moreover, diesel fuel contains large amounts of sulfur. The United States has what is considered the dirtiest diesel, but from June 1 2010 this will be different. U.S. diesel fuel has a lower measure of ignition quality. This means that when it's cold, the ignition performance is poor and can result in increased emissions. This is why we see truck drivers idling their trucks all night in cold weather rather than risk a troublesome start in the morning.
However, the sulfur in diesel that is emitted during ignition engine idling and cold is still long harmful to the environment due to the sulphides avoid that the control of diesel particulate emissions through diesel particulate filters. This is changing, however, as the new advanced technologies such as nitrogen oxide absorbers are being developed to reduce these emissions.
As for gasoline, is the lack of aliphatic, and carcinogenic additives that prevent the engine blows that threaten public health and the environment. This exposure occurs in the case of gasoline leaks and then by course, are the carbon emissions we hear much about. Leaks occur when trucks begin flight carrying gasoline, storage containers are not stored properly, and leaking vehicles. The harmful additives in gasoline can enter groundwater and contaminate public water supplies.
However, diesel is becoming more common use of diesel as fuel for motor vehicles, although it was determined that both the diesel and gasoline have harmful effects on the environment. When we look at carbon emissions from both, we find that diesel will emit more gallon (or liter), but when you look at how they have to fill the tank with diesel fuel compared to how much I have to fill with gasoline, is that the percentage of offset emissions for diesel, which can be friendlier on the pocket. Moreover, the sulfur is emitted by diesel and diesel do not work as well in cold weather such as gasoline, so until 2010, when clean diesel, petrol may be slightly more environmentally friendly than diesel in terms emissions from cars. Regarding soil contamination, diesel has an advantage over gasoline to keep our world clean.
Fleet fuel cards are applicable for both gasoline and diesel engines. It’s important take the environment into consideration when choosing a vehicle.
